not for radio cd packaging

As a small packaging project, I designed a conceptual set of materials for an upcoming song release for an artist I enjoy. When I was tasked with this assignment, I had not heard the song, so I chose it entirely based on its title, “Swan.”

The song itself is very dark and moody, but its lyrics are romantic and poetic. I chose to bring that part of the song to life by designing a CD case using parts of a swan. The cover includes scans I collected of feathers. The CD is custom artwork made to look like a black swan’s iris. The lyrics are printed on a page designed to look like a typed letter, with texture and personal touches to hint at the intimacy of the song.
